The spark for this paper, AUTOMATED VEHICLE STEERING CONTROL (AVSE), struck while working over Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) of automobiles, which is an autonomous control over the throttle at the set value at a safe distance from the vehicles running ahead in a lane.
In the similar way, this paper is a try to overcome the limitations of the adaptive cruise control.
We are incorporating a Vision Sensor (camera) for image recording, with a continuous wave pulse RADAR on the principle of Doppler Effect for ranging and irregularities on the road.
The real road images are simulated in the MATLAB simulation environment and the results were given, which shows the accuracy of computing of this technique.
A new Obstacle detection algorithm for the control is been proposed.
MATLAB simulations, PAIRS algorithm and iterative image processing serve as the backbone for the above mentioned cause.
