ve functional consists of a delity term and a regularizer. Data delity is quantied using the robust modied L1 norm, and elements from the Mumford-Shah functional are used for regularization. We show that the Mumford-Shah regularizer can be viewed as an extended line process. It re- ects spatial organization properties of the image edges, that do not appear in the common line process or anisotropic diusion. This allows to distinguish outliers from edges and leads to superior experimental results.

tion is a fairly controversial subject right now. A system such as this can recognize and track dangerous criminals and terrorists in a crowd, but some contend that it is an extreme invasion of privacy. The proponents of large-scale face recognition feel that it is a necessary evil to make our country safer. It could benefit the visually impaired and allow them to interact more easily with the environment. Also, a computer vision-based authentication system could be put in place to allow computer access or access to a specific room using face recognition. oduction or representation of the form of a person or thing. The inherent association of a human with the visual senses, predisposes one to conceive an image as a stimulus on the retina of the eye, in which case the mechanism of optics govern the image formation resulting in continuos range, multi-tone images.

A digital image can be defined to be a numerical representation of an object or more strictly to be sampled, quantized function of two dimensions which has been generated by optical means, sampled in an equally spaced rectangular grid pattern, and quantized in equal intervals of gray..................[:=> Show Contents <=:]

termined by the ratio of the desired signal power to the sum of all of the other signal powers. It is enhanced by the processing gain or the ratio of spread bandwidth to baseband data rate.

CDMA Channel Assignments
A CDMA digital cellular waveform design uses a pseudorandom noise (PN) sequence to spread the spectrum. The sample rate of the spreading sequence (called the chip rate) is chosen so that the bandwidth of the filtered signal is several times the bandwidth of the original signal.
A typical system might use multiple PN sequences. In addition, it might use repeated spreading codes ..................[:=> Show Contents <=:]
