an OR gate is a logic circuit whose output becomes high WHEN ANY ONE OF ITS INPUTS IS HIGH. Its logic equation is –
Y = A + B
This equation shows that inputs A and B are related with OR mathematical operator. Thus, when A OR B is high, Y is high. The OR addition rules for all possible inputs combinations are –
a) When A = B = 0, Y = A + B = 0 + 0 = 0
b) When A = 0, B = 1, Y = A + B = 0 + 1 = 1
c) When A = 1, B = 0, Y = A + B = 1 + 0 = 1
d) When A = B = 1, Y = A + B = 1 + 1 = 1

CD4033BMS consists of a 5 stage Johnson decade counter and an output decoder which converts the Johnson code to a 7 segment decoded output for driving one stage in a numerical display.
This device is particularly advantageous in display applications where power dissipation low and/or low package count is important.
