ind the effect of curing. It was observed from the results of dry and damp curing that damp curing exhibited very good results within 14 days of curing where as dry curing did not produce sufficient strength even after 28 days of curing. While carrying out experiments to study the leachability of heavy metals from S/S blocks, two metal oxides (lead and chromium) with concentration of 0.5, 1, and 1.5 g/kg of sand were added to water, separately. This water was used for preparing cement – blasting sand S/S blocks. Sand to cement ratio used was same as used in the compressive test experiments. ..................[:=> Show Contents <=:]

Abstract
Soil quality and water quality are concepts related with the functions of these natural resources withinthe environment. Indicators and indexes can be linked with standards for the multiple uses of theseresources and can be used as guides for land use and land management planning, from the field to thewatershed levels. The design of a resource management system must accomplish the standards fixedfor one or more particular resource uses. Vetiver grass technology (VGT) must be designed keeping inmind this requirement. Experimental data..................[:=> Show Contents <=:]

Chitin is a polysaccharide composed from N-acetyl-D-glucosamine units. Mainly found in invertebrates, insects, marine diatoms, algae, fungi, and yeasts. Recent investigations confirm the suitability of chitin and its derivatives in chemistry, biotechnology, medicine, veterinary, dentistry, agriculture, food processing, environmental protection, and textile production (Cousin M. A., 1984).
This biopolymer consists predominantly of high molecular weight composed of N-acetyl-D glucosamine residues in a (1-4) linkage. Chitin has been utilized as an adsorbent for a variety of substrates. Potenti..................[:=> Show Contents <=:]

F ULMUS LEAVES

Ulmus leaves were washed with deionized water.
Then laid down to be dried in sunlight for 14 days.
Dry leaves were then ground with electrical grinder.
After being grounded, the leaf particle were sieved with 60 “ 70 mesh sieves (0.2 “ 0.3mm)
Then the leaves were dried at 1000C for 24 hours to be constant weight.

PREPARATION OF ASHES

The Ulmus leaves ash obtained from burning of Ulmus leaves in oven at 5500C for 15 minutes.

Dried leaves were stored in desiccator until used.

It is the process where in positively charged ions move from anode to cathode.
ie. Water moves from anode to cathode where it can be collected

and pumped

Electro osmotic flow depends on soil nature, water content, pH and on ionic type

concentration in the pore water.

ELECTRO OSMOTIC CONSOLIDATION

Due to the applied electric potential the electrolysis of water occurs at the

damage in historical earthquake around the world. Especially, its devastating effects sprang to the attention of geotechnical engineers in a three-month period in 1964 when the Niigata earthquake in Japan followed the Good Friday earthquake in Alaska. Evaluation of liquefaction resistance of soils is an important step in many geotechnical investigations in earthquake-liable region. The most common procedure around the world for evaluating liquefaction resistance is ?simplified procedure? developed originally by Seed and Idriss (1971) using blow counts from the Standard Penetration Test correla..................[:=> Show Contents <=:]
