0 minutes at no load condition and 180 minutes at 40 amps and 140 minutes at 60 amps load condition respectively. This is due to the increased heat extraction rate at higher loads.
It is also evident from the graphs that at all load conditions the rate of increase in temperature is appreciable up to a temperature of 60degreeC to 65degreeC. It is due to the fact that when the temperature reaches 60degreeC, the paraffin in the storage tank start changes its phase and for the phase large amount of heat is taken from the water and this reduces the rate of increase in temperature of water.

Temperature inside the engine cylinder is almost the lowest at the end of suction stroke. During combustion there is a rapid rise in temperature to a peak value which again drops during the expansion.

The advanced cooling concepts are proposed to overcome the shortcomings arising when applying conventional cooling methods. The various effects of overheating the engine components due to the improper cooling and conventional cooling methods have also being discussed.


During the process of combustion a large portion of heat is transferred to various engine components and the engine may be damaged unless the excess heat is carried away and these parts are adequately cooled. Adequate cooling is then a fundamental problem associated with internal combustion engines.
