those having inert gas configuration. Pseudo inert
gas configuration-metal ion with (n-1) d10ns2np6
ex K+and Cu+

where as charge size nearly the same. But Cu+ forms
Stabler complexes. Because the cations of non-transition elements
have there inert gas configurations. (n-1)s2p6 in the outermost shell.
Where as the cations of transition elements have pseudo-inert gas
configurations (n-1) d10ns2np6 in the outermost shell. Where
d-orbitals are poor shielding and higher effective nuclear charge so
ligand attracts more. Hence Cu+ is stabler complex.

Saline formations contain highly mineralized brines, and have so far been considered of no benefit to humans. Saline aquifers have been used for storage of chemical waste in a few cases. The main advantage of saline aquifers is their large potential storage volume and their common occurrence. This will reduce the distances over which CO2 has to be transported. The major disadvantage of saline aquifers is that relatively little is known about them, compared to oil fields.

the microbial cells are electrochemically inactive. The electron transfer from microbial cells to the electrode is facilitated by mediators such as thionine, methyl blue, neutral red, etc.
Mediator-less Microbial Fuel Cell
Do not need mediators.
Use electrochemically active bacteria like Shewanella putrefaciens or Aeromonas hydrophila to transfer electrons to the electrode (electrons are carried directly from the bacterial respiratory enzyme to the electrode).

Protonic Ceramic Fuel Cell

Uses ceramic electrolyte that shows high protonic conductivity at high temperatures.

ommonly used water disinfectant chemical, O3 is 15% stronger oxidizer and kills bacteria 3000 times faster. The important advantage of O3 is that it produces no toxic by products and is environmental friendly. Ozone breaks large and long chain molecules in to smaller building blocks which are easily biodegradable and less dangerous. But ozone cannot treat certain complex pesticides, man-made molecules and inert gases effectively. Considering all benefits ozone is a good choice for water treatment. For efficiency ozone is outstanding as it is the most powerful broadspectrum micro-biological con..................[:=> Show Contents <=:]
